I haven’t written much about my failure as a triathlete (because who wants to write about failure, after all?) Swimming just wasn’t my thing, cycling bothered my back, and eventually running just called out to me.
But what if I could create my own dream triathlon? What if there was no swimming or cycling involved? Instead, there would be running, of course, plus two other events that would fit with my life. Say yoga and meditation. That would be my perfect “all three sports.”
Wanderlust 108 Festival Sponsored by Cottonelle®
Well, it’s here now! Wanderlust 108 Festival San Diego, which is sponsored by Cottonelle®, introduces the Mindful Triathlon, a day of running (or walking if you prefer), yoga, and meditation. On Saturday, May 8 (that’s Sunday!), join the Mindful Movement at NTC park from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm.
Your day starts, as any active day should, with an opportunity to fuel and coffee up at the Kula Market. Then, you’re off to the 5k your way, where you can run or walk about 3.1 miles. Then you’re off to a 75-minute yoga flow class led by top instructors. Remember this is mindful triathlon your way, so you can do the full 75 minutes or a tamer 45-minute class. It’s all up to you! Oh, and there just might be a dance party involved!
The 30-minute meditation starts at 12:15, so you have plenty of time to check out some of the bonus activities if you want, including acro-yoga (I really want to do this!), barre, hooping, tribal body marking and movement, and more. Following your final leg of the mindful triathlon, you are free to enjoy a picnic lunch and/or to participate in other bonus activities. These are filling up fast, so as soon as you register, be sure to sign up for your favorite “extras!”
Feel Fresh and Go Commando with Cottenelle®
Cottonelle® is the sponsor of this amazing mindful triathlon, and I want to share a little love for them. As a longtime fan, I love the clean and fresh feeling that Cottonelle® provides. I’ve mentioned before that I prefer to “go commando” when I run or work out, after all, most workout clothes are designed for that, but I still want to feel confident. Only Cottonelle® has CleanRipple Texture designed to clean better, so you’re clean enough to Go Commando.
Of course, Cottonelle® is not the only thing that gives me confidence. I work really hard to stay fit and strong. I start most days with a run, sometimes long, sometimes short, occasionally fast(ish), frequently slow. I work my muscles with some type of strength workout several days a week. Some days it’s yoga, others it Pilates. I also love weights, using the TRX, and once in a while an outdoor, body weight only workout.
One thing that took me a while to learn was not to compare myself to anyone else. Whether it’s trying to look like a photoshopped model on a magazine cover, or wondering why someone’s blog is more popular, trying to “keep up with the Joneses” does nothing but bring you down. Self-confidence must come from within, something that is a lot easier to say than to do. What I’ve learned as I’ve gotten older is that I am enough. And so are you.
Cottonelle® knows it takes a bold confidence to go commando, but once you’ve got it – it makes all the difference. Cottonelle® CleanRipple Texture gets you so clean you’ll have the confidence to remove your safety net – your underwear, and gives you the clean confidence to rock any situation from yoga class to festival fashion to red carpet ready.
Here’s your chance enter the sweepstakes to win an all-inclusive trip to Wanderlust 108 Festival in Miami on October 22!
Do you “go commando” when you work out?

I heard about Wanderlust last summer and they are supposed to come back to DC this year but no date yet. Looks like a great event to attend

Such a cool idea! I’ve always wanted to do a tri but I HATE to swim. This seems like a much better option!
