I’m so excited that it’s Friday! Not only is it time for Friday Favorites, but I am happy to see the weekend arrive. I guess I’m a little spoiled, but I’m virtually off for most of the summer, not by choice, but because all my clients get out of Dodge the desert to escape the hot weather.
It makes for a nice break, but the downside is, well, no money coming in. This week, though I have been helping out by working the front desk to fill in while someone was on vacation. Our club stays open, even though most of our members are gone, so the full-time staff work through the summer.
I ended up with about a 40-hour week, which is great. It was also pretty tiring, since I started work every day at 6:30. And honestly, it took a toll on my Faster 10k Training program (in spite of all the indoor workout options I had).
Anyway, I made it, and I will really be appreciating the weekend. I’m working a few days next week too, but I will get back on the training program no matter what. And since I had no outdoor runs this week, I had no interesting or unusual things seen on the run to report. I’ll be back with that next week.

New Styles from Janji
I was really excited to have a chance to try out new fitness fashion from Janji! Janji makes beautiful performance running clothing, but even better than that, they have a mission: to bring clean water to Africa.
Clean drinking water is something we all take for granted. When we run, we don’t think twice about where it will come from or if we’ll have enough. But did you know that worldwide, one in ten people do not have easy access to clean, drinkable water?
Janji gives 10% of each purchase to support clean water projects in third world countries. This season, they are supporting Kenya.
And I love that the styles and patterns of the clothing are inspired by the people or culture of Africa. For example, the top I am wearing is called the Zig Zebra and was inspired by the Grevy’s Zebra of Ethiopia. Not only is it beautiful but it is made of a lightweight, breathable fabric that feels so soft and silky you barely know that you’re wearing it.

I love beautiful yoga mats. They have come a long way from plain old solid color mats. I’d buy them all if I could. I just got an email from Yoga Outlet the other day that all of these gorgeous La Vie Boheme yoga mats are on sale. Hmm, now if I could just choose one!
