I love to run. I love the wind in my hair, the feeling of freedom, and the way that my mind can work out complex problems (or write blog posts) while I run.
Sometimes, though, I need a little more entertainment than my own thoughts, especially on long or difficult runs. I will occasionally listen to music, but, as I mentioned in my first Trekz Titanium headphones review, I usually listen to audiobooks.
While I made the switch to Bluetooth headphones a while back, I was never happy with the fit of the ear pieces. They either felt too loose or uncomfortably tight inserted into my ear. The wire between the two ear pieces would get caught in my hair. Then I discovered Trekz Titanium bone conduction headphones.
Bone conduction technology was originally created about 15 years ago for military and law enforcement use. When Aftershokz launched in 2011, they took that idea and created an affordable headphone for everyday use. The unique open-ear design allows the user to listen to premium quality sound yet still be aware of their surroundings.
Now I had headphones that were comfortable and waterproof, did not slip, and didn’t even insert into my ear because of the bone conduction technology. They just rest on the bones in front of my ears, allowing me to answer phone calls, listen to music or audiobooks, and still hear what is going on around me.

Trekz Titanium Pink
A few years ago I had a breast cancer scare. Everything turned out fine, but it really reinforced my belief in breast cancer education and early detection. One in eight women will develop breast cancer, but the five-year survival rate is greater than 92% when it is detected early.
Aftershokz not only shares my concerns, they are doing something about it. Through October 31, when you purchase a pair of the limited edition Trekz Titanium Pink, they will be donating 25% of the proceeds to Bright Pink, an organization that spreads awareness of breast and ovarian cancer, offer support groups and genetic counseling, and generally empower women to take charge of their health.
Here’s the full scoop:
When you purchase a pair of Trekz Titanium Pink headphones, not only will you help Aftershokz assist in the fight against breast and ovarian cancer, you will receive a free small case! Simply add the small case to your cart, then when you check out use the code PinkGift!
Being aware is the name of the game, whether it is awareness of your surroundings when you’re on the run or learning more about your health and personal risks for breast and other cancers.
And if you’re wondering about my other pair of Trekz Titanium headphones? Well, I found someone who loves them as much as I do.
Do you use headphones when you work out? Are you wired or unwired?

They are everywhere right now! Good timing to help with breast cancer awareness!

These look convenient! And, who doesn’t love pink? I usually have ear buds with me on my runs…like you, I get bored with just my own thoughts on occasion and need other entertainment. I have never tried any kind of head gear like these, though.
Debbie Woodruff
I always hated ear buds, and once you go wireless you never want to go back.
Wendy@Taking the Long Way Home
I do listen to music when I run. I am so skeptical about the sound quality of bone conduction headphones tho…everyone says they sound good but I’d have to try them for myself.
Debbie Woodruff
Ah, my skeptic. 🙂 You should find someone (probably a blogger lol) who uses them and try them out. I think they sound great.
Anna @ Piper's Run
I don’t listen to music when I run, I used to but stopped a number of years ago. Actually, I’m pretty sure I stopped listening to music when I started running after my first child…I just wanted time to think and see! These sound like the perfect combination of listening to your music yet being aware of your surroundings.
Debbie Woodruff
They are nice because when you turn off the sound you can easily hear conversations (or your own thoughts! 😃).

I still have my wired Yurbuds, but I hear iPhone will be eliminating the headphone jack soon! These look like a great option and I love that they are supporting such an important cause.
Debbie Woodruff
It’s time to start thinking about wireless! In. My opinion, these are a really good choice.
Carmy
Love the look of these headphones. They look cute!
Debbie Woodruff
They look good and they sound good! Win/Win!
Jenn
These sound great!
I have been using the ear buds that came with my iPod, and I am fine with those. I only keep one ear bud in, though, just so I can be more aware. It would be nice to be able to listen to something without having them in my ear.
Debbie Woodruff
That’s a really nice thing about these headphones. When they’re playing you can still hear sounds around you, and when they are off you can hear everything without muffling.
Celia at Chicago Jogger
Those headphones look AWESOME! I really dislike mine, I need to look into a new pair.
Mary Beth Jackson
I love the pink and so want to try these…….:) I see a purchase coming my way! Thanks for sharing!
Michelle Rogers
I’d love to try these!! All I have right now are the standard iphone earbuds, and of course they tend to get in the way when exercising.
Jaycie
I love this! I’m personally a “connected” runner at the moment, but should I switch, I know the ones I’ll buy first! Thanks for the great review!
Kathryn @ Dancing to Running
I’ve been on the hunt for a new pair of headphones, especially since I still use wired ones. I’ll definitely have to look into these.
Michael
It looks nice. I’ll share this post to my girl friend. She is a pinkaholic :))
Thanks for this post.

I don’t know about you but I love listening to music… at home,in the car, while doing chores and of course while working out. I listen to music to help me get pumped up and for getting inspired to make a new dance fitness routine for my class.
