Don’t you hate it when someone promises something, say a big announcement, at a certain time, then fails to follow through? I do. Which is why, even though life tried to intervene, I’m posting this is the middle of a Friday afternoon (instead of my normal early morning time). And while I’m not really sorry because I was having a great time with friends (see below), I do apologize.
I Can’t Believe I Did This! Ragnar So Cal
I’ve been teasing this “announcement” for a few days so I may as well jump right into it. I’ve been invited to join team Skirts Go Commando for Ragnar So Cal!
If you read the graphic, you’ll see that not only am I running Ragnar, I’m doing it as part of an Ultra team! That means that instead of the usual 12 runners, Team Skirts Go Commando consists of only six! Twice as far = twice as fun, right? I hope so!

So, this will be interesting.
So how does one train for a Ragnar Ultra team in three weeks? Stay tuned, because you know I’ll share exactly what I’ll be doing. In a nutshell, I’ll be running.
I’ll also be running the Carlsbad 5000 All Day 20k in two weeks. If you recall, that is the race where one runs four 5ks in a row. Which sounds kind of easy compared to a Ragnar Ultra, doesn’t it? Anyway, Alan will be with me so we’ll be suffering having fun together.

Talk about timing! Nuun just released a new product, Endurance, and I’m really excited about using it for Ragnar So Cal (and my three weeks training, of course). I love Nuun (I’m a Nuunbassador!). Endurance has carbohydrates as well as electrolytes to keep you going for the long run! My order is on its way and I can’t wait to add it to my hydration and nutrition plan.

Friends for Life
Did you see my Instagram post the other day? If so, you know why this post is late.
Alan and I had a great time running with Dusty (and she was kind enough to slow her young self down so we could keep up). Thursday evening, when I was supposed to be finishing up this post, we met Dusty and her family for dinner at the Yardhouse. We had a great time and I had a couple of glasses of wine, hence the post did not get completed on time. Sorry, not sorry.
Dusty goes back to Colorado on Saturday and we truly hope it will not be another 13 years before we see her again. Visiting Colorado Springs in the middle of summer sounds like a pretty good idea, though!
I’m Going to Shine!
So perhaps you might say that I already shine. And you’d be right. But this Shine is part of a new event at the IDEA World Fitness Convention June 27-30!
Shine is an invite-only conference for fitness, wellness, and nutrition influencers that will give us the opportunity to grow, share, learn from experts, empower each other, and connect face-to-face with spotlight brands. We will also have the chance to attend some of the sessions at the IDEA Convention. It’s an incredible opportunity.

I’d bet that you have plenty of saved up endurance from your marathon training! I ran a PR half 6 weeks after Chicago one year–and that was on only one long run of 10 miles during that time. You got this!
