Labor Day. It doesn’t have the excitement of Christmas, the all-out fun of Halloween, or the solemnity of Veteran’s Day, but maybe it should! There are a lot of things to celebrate about Labor Day! Here are five of them.

5 Reasons to Love Labor Day
Labor Day may not be a fancy holiday like Christmas or Halloween, but it still deserves some respect. Here are 5 reasons to love Labor Day! #sales #autumn #labordayClick To Tweet
It’s the People’s Holiday
It’s the one holiday dedicated to the regular, go-to-work kind of person. Celebrated on the first Monday in September, Labor Day is an acknowledgment of the social and economic achievements of the American Worker. Labor Day became a federal holiday in 1894 and it is an annual tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
Cooler Weather is Coming!
It may not be happening yet, but Labor Day signals the end of summer and the coming of cooler weather. The last chance for barbecues. Time to start thinking about breaking out the cozy clothing. While I know that not all of my readers are necessarily happy about that, it’s making me do a happy dance!
Holiday Weekend
Hey, it’s a holiday weekend! That’s always good. While there may not be lights, trees, or costumes, most people will be off on Monday, as will kids, so it’s a great weekend for a little getaway and a last hurrah of summer.
Last Chance to Wear Those Cute White Sandals
If you’re fashion conscious, it’s your last chance to wear white! Actually, this is an outdated fashion rule that no one really pays attention to, especially in the desert where it’s pretty warm nine months out of the year. The old-school fashion police used to say the only time to wear white was between Memorial Day and Labor Day. My suggestion: Wear white any time that you want!

Of course, the best thing about Labor Day is Labor Day sales! Many companies are clearing out their summer clothing to make room for fall fashion, so Labor Day always has some great deals. Plus, you get an extra day to shop! Here are some of my favorite sales.

I am definitely looking forward to Labor Day Weekend! While I am kind of sad that summer is ending, I am also looking forward to fall. I’ve pretty much stopped following the no white after Labor Day rule- its usually still so warm well into Sept. or even Oct that I still want to wear some of those summer clothes.
Deborah Brooks
you are right-Labor day does not get the respect it deserves! My grandma was a stickler for the no white after Labor day thing but things seem to have loosened up in that area
Wendy
Look at all the sales I’m going to look away from! LOL I’ve spent so much money getting my son ready for college. It’s been fun shopping, tho. He doesn’t care what I buy so that makes it easier.

I love that your Labour Day is on a Monday so you get a long weekend! Ours is on the 1st May and it doesn’t matter what day it falls on so it can sometimes be over the weekend or a random day in the week. It makes such a difference when it falls on a Friday or Monday! Have a great long weekend!

I do love a good sale. 🙂 I also like how you snuck in the Skirt Sports sale. 🙂
Today is quite cool. If only it would stay like this!

It’s already cooling off here in Alaska and fall colors are in full bloom. I ran in 50 degree weather a couple of days ago although it was really nice. I am waiting for it to warm up a bit today because it is 44 out right now. I, unfortunately do not have plans for labor day being that it is my week-end to work but I am looking forward to checking out these online sales!!

We have 4 days off over labor day weekend so i’m always onboard with this holiday! And yea, I’ll probably wear white way into October because the weather is still usually warm then. Of course then it will be a slightly darker shade of white, “winter white”, right?
Thanks for linking up!

I LOVE Labor Day sales. I haven’t taken advantage this year, though! What is wrong with me??!

I’m all for Labor Day weekend – to me, it signals fall is coming! And I love a good sale 😉

I am SOOOO excited fro Labor Day simply because I am ready for an extra long weekend 😉 I took on more hours at work this summer and my brain is not yet used to 30+ hours of “active thought” LOL Although I do not wear white shoes very often, I do wear white year-round…but I funk it up so it doesn’t look like summer attire.
