Whew! What a weekend! Four days at the IDEA World Fitness Convention! I had such a great time, learned so much, made so many new friends, that I hardly know where to start writing about it all! As you know, I am an IDEA Inspired Advisor so I had full pass to the whole conference, an opportunity to meet a lot of great fitness pros, speakers, other bloggers, and get in on the ground floor of some new and exciting plans (which I will tell you all about when I can).
As you can tell, I am still excited about my whole experience, so for now, I just want to post some photos of some of the people that I got to meet. Over the next week I will bring you up to date on the sessions, the expo, more on the people, the workouts, and of course, the vegan eats.
Here is 88 year old Elaine LaLanne, widow of Jack, doing pushups on the stage after giving the Jack LaLanne award to Beto Perez, founder of Zumba (sorry about the bad picture).
Bo Eason, was, in my opinion, the best presenter of the weekend. He was also the Keynote speaker (and as a former SF 49er, he wins in Alan’s book too!). I will write more about his session in a coming post.
Here’s my girl Tiffany, also known as Running Hutch. She has so much energy and enthusiasm it is contagious!
Tiffany and I are here with Kelli, who does the social media for IDEA. She is in charge of us Inspired Advisors! We are all wearing red because that is the theme of the opening night InspiRED party at IDEA World.
I met a few people while walking through the Expo. This is Kathie Davis, the co- founder of IDEA. I was thrilled to meet her!
I was so excited to finally meet Kimberly and Alexandra of Fun and Fit! As fellow boomer/bloggers we have a lot in common!
Alyse of Sweat Pink, Fit Approach, and Sweat Guru (yes, they are busy women!) showing off their balance skillz.
Here is Kasey (Powercakes) and Cassey (Blogilates). Cassey had a booth at the expo and also led a session on Social Media.
I also had a chance to meet Nicki, a fellow Swirlgear Ambassador. We didn’t realize until we talked at the expo, but we’d both been running in our Swirlgear that morning. Unfortunately not together.
Posing with Kymberly, Kelli, Alexandra, and Alyse.
Alyse and I at the Define Bottle booth, with Carter, the 15 year old founder. He created an eco-friendly bottle that allows you to take fruit-infused water wherever you go.
Several of the Inspired Advisors: Me, Alyse, Tiffany, Kasey, and Gina (Fitnessista).
I’ll have lot more coming over the week! Check back for recaps of the sessions (in addition to Bo, I had sessions on making group training profitable, the ultimate anti-aging workout, post-rehab training, and much, much more), the workouts I attended (and did on my own), and my vegan food (although I felt like I was surviving on almonds and snacks from the Daiya booth, I did manage a couple of real meals).
How was your weekend? Did you do anything special, race, compete, or just relax? Do tell!
I am glad you had such a good weekend! I’m a little jealous you got to meet a bunch of my favorite bloggers.
