How to Stay Comfy, Fashionable, and Sane for Holiday Shopping
#ad Holiday shopping can be exhausting and stressful. Here are some tips to help you stay comfy, fashionable, and sane during this busy time of year. #adidas #adidasbloggerClick To TweetSurprisingly, the key so staying comfy, fashionable, and sane for holiday shopping starts before you even walk out your door. No, I don’t mean doing it all on the internet (I’m way too much of a procrastinator for that)! I mean there are things you should be doing to make yourself feel better and calmer as you hit the mall.
Get enough sleep
Funny how getting enough sleep will help you do almost anything better, isn’t it? Face it, most of us don’t get nearly enough sleep and it shows. Lack of sleep affects performance, attitude, and even weight, so you can see that if you want to stay sane for holiday shopping you’d better get to bed a little earlier.
Eat (and drink) healthfully and in moderation
Yes, it’s the holiday season and we are surrounded with sweet treats, invited to holiday parties where the liquor flows, and so busy that we tend to just grab something on the run. And you should enjoy it. In moderation. Avoid the temptation to eat and drink all the treats. And if you do get a little carried away? Don’t say, “well I blew it, all is lost.” Instead, get right back to your plan. Moderation.
Keep moving
The holiday season is hectic, no argument here. It’s easy to put that exercise plan aside because you feel like you simply don’t have the time. I say strive for moderation in that as well. Keep moving, shorten your workouts if necessary, take a walk when you can grab a moment (even if it’s in the mall parking lot after you parked your car at the far end of the lot). Physical activity helps keep stress under control, so keep movement a part of your holiday plan.
Take care of yourself
Holiday shopping is dedicated to others. Your thoughts are on your family, friends, and co-workers. Don’t forget to take a little time for yourself, whether it’s a quiet moment when everyone has gone to bed, a little body self-care with a foam roller, or even a massage if you can find the time.
Plan ahead
If you really want to stay sane for holiday shopping start making your list now. If you head out with some vague notions about what you’re going to purchase, you could very well be walking in circles before too long. Make a plan and (mostly) stick to it.
Do your holiday shopping in off-hours (if possible)
I know it’s not easy, especially if you work full-time or have small children, but shopping at off-hours will really help reduce your stress. Parking will be easier and the lines will be shorter if you can plan to shop early or late.
Fuel yourself
Shopping is a calorie-burning activity! Don’t forget to refuel if you’ll be out there for more than a few hours. Grab a snack (or bring one with you). It’s also a great time to sit for a few minutes.
Reward yourself
Just because you’re shopping for everyone else doesn’t mean you can’t buy that cute outfit!
Dress comfortably (with style)
Dressing comfortably is important, but that doesn’t have to mean a baggy sweatshirt and ragged jeans. Check out some of these adidas Street Style choices that will keep you looking and feeling good. And don’t forget comfy shoes!
