So here we are! Ready to start day two of the Gerolsteiner Sparkling Detox! Are you as excited as I am? How did your first day go?
Welcome to the Gerolsteiner Sparkling Detox!
In case you missed it, yesterday was the first day of the Gerolsteiner Sparkling Detox. For five days, the only beverage I and the other participants will be consuming is Gerolsteiner Mineral Water. I’m clearing out the morning coffee, the evening wine, even my usual plain water during the day and substituting Gerolsteiner.
Why Gerolsteiner? With its bottled-at-the-source natural minerals, it is not only refreshing and delicious, a liter has a third of the essential calcium and a quarter of the essential magnesium I need every day, plus some electrolytes like potassium, sodium, and chloride to help me stay hydrated. And of course, absolutely no caffeine, sugar, alcohol, or other chemicals. Just refreshing and sparkling mineral water.
Why a Detox?
I wrote recently about what is hidden in some of our favorite beverages. Juices have a lot of sugar, diet soda is loaded with chemicals, and both have the potential to cause weight gain, sweet cravings, and even diabetes. While a small to moderate amount of caffeine or alcohol is not dangerous, both have their side effects and can potentially be addictive. I’ve taken note of the number of my readers that have been afraid to give of their coffee!
To be honest, I’m a little nervous about that too. But that is all the more reason to give it up! Who’s in control here? I certainly can give up caffeine for five days. In return, I know I will feel cleaner, healthier, and even stronger knowing that I did it.
And don’t forget, we have a support group! Join the Gerolsteiner Sparkling Detox Facebook group for health, diet and exercise tips plus mutual support from the other participants. We can ask questions and share our success. Just request to join here.

I love sparkling water and have given up everything else but coffee. I don’t think I could make it through without it! I do find it easier to drink sparkling water than regular water I like the fizz. Good luck with your challenge.

Does that beverage have a limit and can you really substitute that for water? Isn’t water is the most substantial natural liquid that we can consume? I’m just a little skeptic about that drink I think water is still the best our there naturally because I’m not a fan of some processed drinks but maybe I’ll give it a try tomorrow, thank you for this post!

Sad to say but my day won’t be complete without a cup of coffee though I can use it after a cup of my favorite creamy white coffee.
