I’ve got to say I’m pretty excited! It’s Countdown to Blogfest 2018 and I can’t wait! This year we’re in America’s Finest City which makes it super convenient for those of us who live in Southern California. And if you don’t, hey, it’s San Diego! A perfect place for a blogging and fitness convention!
In case you don’t know, Blogfest 2018 is the fitness bloggers’ conference put on by Fit Approach and the Idea Health and Fitness Association. It takes place during the IDEA World Fitness Convention. Participants attend Blogfest on Thursday and Friday, then have the opportunity to go to the last two days of the fitness convention. It’s especially cool for fitness professionals like me (CEUs anyone?) but there is something for anyone who is interested in fitness and healthy living.
Countdown to Blogfest 2018
Are you as thrilled as I am yet? If not, here are five reasons that I am so excited about Blogfest 2018!
The Blogging Knowledge
Every year the folks behind Blogfest manage to find great speakers that share their knowledge without it starting to feel like the same old things. I’m the first to admit that, while I’ve been blogging for a long time, I certainly don’t know everything! This year some of the topics include How to Make 6 Figures While You Sleep (looking forward to that one!), Actionable Analytics (need that one!), the Power of Podcasts (interesting, but I’ve yet to listen to one (oops!)), How to Make Love to the Camera (with my favorite LA blogger of all time, Gigi Ashworth), and more.
The Expo
The IDEA World Fitness Expo is one of the largest in the world and it’s just amazing. You’ll find state-of-the-art fitness equipment, the newest fitness tools and “toys,” exercise gear from all the big companies, the hottest new workouts and fashion, nutrition and food companies, great discounts and samples, and, from a blogger’s point of view, an opportunity to meet and network with many companies in the fitness world.
The Workouts
As part of Blogfest 2018, we are so lucky to be treated to some of the hottest workouts and instructors out there today at classes designed just for us. This year those workouts include Out of the Gym and Onto the Beach with Suzelle Snowden, Full Frog Body Slam, and Workout & Rollout with Trigger Point. We also are invited to join the rest of the convention participants in the IDEA World Mega Circuit with Alex Isaly.
As for the rest of the convention, there are too many workout options to list here, but they are all so awesome that some people come here just for the workouts! Some of the well-known instructors include Todd Durkin, Tony Horton, Heidi and Chris Powell, Kaisa Keranen, Cassey Ho, and more.
The Fitness Knowledge
With hundreds of sessions and tracks that include Personal Training and Exercise Science, Personal Training Techniques, Group Exercise, Small Group Training, Nutrition and Behavioral Change, Business Development, Mind-Body, and more, you can see that there is something for everyone, whether you’re a personal trainer, group exercise instructor, gym manager or owner, or fitness enthusiast. It’s a great opportunity to earn CEUs for certification renewal and to increase your fitness knowledge.
My sessions on Saturday and Sunday include Insights into Lower Back Pain and Functional Solutions, Kinesio Taping – Basic and Advanced Taping, Flexibility Highways, Revisited, Trigger Point Movement Prep, and Progressions for Advanced Balance Training. Can you tell I’m a running coach, flexibility therapist, and personal trainer who works with an older population?
The People
And lastly, but to me most importantly, the reason I am so excited about Blogfest 2018 is the people. The people I have met before at previous Blogfests. The people whose blogs I read but I’ve never met before. The people who are working so hard to present this awesome conference. All the people who will become good friends over the two days of Blogfest 2018.
I could post many more picture from past years, but right now I just can’t wait to see what this year has in store!
