Wow! What a weekend! I spent the last several days in Los Angeles at the IDEA World Fitness Convention and, of course, Blogfest. As with any amazing educational experience, it will take some time for me to absorb everything that I learned, then to share my takeaways, so this post will be a quick photographic recap of the people I met at Blogfest and IDEA World.
Amazing Adventures at Blogfest and IDEA World (In no particular order)
I’ve been wanting to meet Gigi for so long! We seem to just miss each other at various events, but this time, I grabbed her and made her take this picture with me. Finally!
And another woman I’ve “known” for years and finally met. I followed Run with Kate for years before she became So Cal Runner Gal. So happy to finally meet Kate at the Expo!
Funny story. Teresa (Eat, Drink and be Skinny) had told me that Kate was manning (should that be womanning?) a booth at the expo but I completely forgot which one. I happened to stop by the Chosen Foods booth, chatted with one of the ladies, grabbed an avocado oil sample. Then I picked up my phone from the table and moved on. I had a session to get to. Fortunately, I stopped to do something with my phone. Holy cow! I had two phones in my hand! In my defense, they were both big and pink. I hurried back to the booth (hoping that was where I picked it up). I asked one of the girls if someone had lost a phone. Yes! She thought that she had left it in the restroom, but she would be so happy that she got it back.
Later on that evening, at our wrap up party, I was talking to Teresa (who I somehow missed taking a selfie with), and it turns out that it was Kate’s phone that I had “stolen!” We had a good laugh over that!
I met Nat and Sandra last year at Blogfest. It was so good to see them again!
I’m in a couple Facebook groups with Kaila! It was nice to meet her in person.
I met Susie last year and somehow missed getting a selfie with her, but I LOVE this photo. Look at that intensity!
Focus. Determination. Strength. @the_suzlyfe has got it goin’ on!

Renee and I wandered the expo together between sessions and found some fun toys to play with, including the Active Motion Bar. What makes it so cool is the ball bearings inside the tubes which change the balance and make you have to adapt. Awesome!
My two favorite Sweat Pink girls! Jamie, posing, and Alyse in the background. Alyse has this gorgeous baby that she brought with her (so I got to tickle her toes 🙂 ).
Cassey has been a presenter at both Blogfest and IDEA. This year I caught her at the Pop Pilates booth.
Our focus group, um, focused on blog design. I think we came up with some great ideas. With Lindsay, Pamela, Chris, and Liz.
Our blog design focus group. Great ideas here, especially ‘No Comic Sans!.

The Fit Approach team. Between them, they put this whole thing together.
Not only are we Blogfest and Sweat Pink, we are Rock ‘n’ Bloggers! With Lea, Sarah, Elizabeth, Amanda, Briana, and Ariana.
So I did some of the Beachbody Live workout, but when they got to Tabata I decided I’d be better used as the photographer. It was a great class. Excellent instruction, good music, and a whole lot of fun.
Great form! The #blogfest crew doing the 180 with #beachbodylive! Looking good ladies!

Celebrity trainer Jorge Cruise stopped by after the Beachbody workout. He was so nice! He took photos with everybody, including the group shot, and was happy to share his phone number as well as his social media accounts with all of us bloggers. He’s a newlywed too! He and his husband Stephen just got married a few weeks ago!
One-third of my Ragnar So Cal team! (And 2/3 of Van #2!). We are the Dirrty Dozen and we were awesome (and Happy!)

I’m entered to win some TRX swag, but I kind of like this picture, so here you go.
I’m not sure this body is a machine yet.

As I was writing this post, I saw this picture by Pamela on Instagram. I felt kind of bad because I skipped out on the last session we’d be taking together. She’s amazing and I’m sorry I missed the chance to say goodbye. Until next time, Pamela!
Group shot from the party (and I realized I did get a picture with Teresa in the lower right corner). Along with Jen, Carleeh, Jen, Alyse, and Jamie.
Whew! That’s all for now! Do you like my photos? Follow me on Instagram! If you were at Blogfest or IDEA and I missed you, I’m so sorry! Maybe next time (we’ll be in Vegas, baby!)! Have you ever been to a blogging or a fitness conference? What did you think?

Debbie Woodruff
You can tell the newbies by how many pictures they take. 😄 But I did try to get picture s with the people. Anyway I still love that photo of you. Intense!
Marsha
Looks like so much fun! I think there’s one going on in Indy soon….. I really should’ve looked into it since I live here, but it was early in my blogging adventures. What was your biggest take away?
Chrissa - Physical Kitchness
Oh my gosh I am SO jealous!! I was temped to drive up there on Saturday (living in San Diego) but being 9 months pregnant, the drive seemed daunting and I am in such a lazy state of mind right now. NEXT YEAR I’m soooooo going! Glad you had a blast.
Deborah @ Confessions of a mother runner
Serious FOMO that you got to meet all of my favorite bloggers in real life. I’ve got to get out there next year. Looks like a blast!

Looks like so much fun! It felt so wrong to be in Cali and not be there! I told my husband I was borrowing the rental car to head down there but there is no way with is crazy schedule at work I could drive down without the girls. Hoping to head down next year, since I made it to Expo West down there in March I can’t be too upset.
Ilka
Thanks for sharing all these pics of this fun event! So fun!

Cassi
BlogFest Sounds like an exciting conference for anyone! I wish I could go soon.
Mandie
My biggest regret from Blogfest was that I let my shyness and introverted nature stop me from introducing myself to people as a first timer not really knowing anyone! Next year, I will be in your “people” post! 😉
Debbie Woodruff
I am behind on my replying to comments but I just had to pop in to say how much I understand what you’re staying. I am an introvert as well, and it is difficult for me to get out of my shell and open up to people. I think you’ll find that a lot of bloggers feel the same way. Please, please introduce yourself to me (I’ll have to memorize a picture of you beforehand so I can introduce myself to you!)! Trust me when I tell you that it gets a little easier the second (and third!) time.
De Bolton
It was so great meeting you in person and the entire Sweat Pink Crew was amazingly welcomed. I will definitely be attending next year. I wish I would have had time to sit and chat with you more but you’ve inspired me on IG and through your blog and I hope to get to know you even better next year!
Julie Syl Pit Stop Crew
Okay Debs I want that ripped fit, tonned shape already and you Met GiGi, Love that gal, she is super cray ray funny! And so genuine!
Looks like an Awesome blogfest thanks for sharing at the Pit Stop!
Jamie King
you are seriously one of the best things about BlogFest! XOXO
Debbie Woodruff
Ahhhh, thank you. You and your crew have managed to make it better every year and I’m happy just to be a part of it.
Amanda @ Positively Amanda
Awesome recap! Love all the pictures 🙂
