I love smoothies, especially after a morning run. I love them so much I recently included smoothies both as Running Necessities and as an Important Recovery Tool. I admit that I rarely follow a recipe. Instead, I start with a base of Nuzest Clean Lean Protein and non-dairy milk and add whatever I have on hand that sounds good at the moment. Sometimes, though, a creation such as this Very Berry Chocolate Shake Smoothie is so delicious that I know I need to write it down (and of course share it with you).

Very Berry Chocolate Shake Smoothie
This Very Berry Chocolate Shake Smoothie is great for #running recovery! It has carbs, proteins, electrolytes and more to help you refuel and rehydrate! It's a great #vegan choice! #MeatlessMondayClick To TweetWhen creating a post-run smoothie, it is important to think about the body’s needs. We need carbohydrates to restore, protein to repair, electrolytes and fluids to rehydrate. This Very Berry Chocolate Shake Smoothie has all of that, plus turmeric to fight inflammation. And, of course, it contains all the health benefits of chocolate, which include antioxidants, cancer protection, heart health, and more.
While you can use any plant-based protein, my favorite is Nuzest Clean Lean Protein. It has no added anything! It’s vegan, gluten-free, sugar-free, soy-free, and has no artificial ingredients. It is made with European golden pea protein and is also allergen free. It also mixes easily and tastes great! Don’t forget you can save 15% on your purchase with the code COACHDEBBIERUNS!
One of my new favorite add-ins is Daily Turmeric. It has turmeric, which helps reduce inflammation, black cherry, which is an antioxidant as well as an anti-inflammatory, and black pepper, which help the body absorb the curcumin in the turmeric. While turmeric has quite a strong flavor, Daily Turmeric does not overrule the other flavors in the Very Berry Chocolate Shake Smoothie at all.
- 2 Bananas (frozen is best)
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 2 tablespoons peanut butter
- 16 ounces non-dairy milk
- 2 scoops Nuzest Rich Chocolate Clean Lean Protein
- 1 scoop Daily Turmeric

What are your favorite smoothie flavors?

One of my goals this week was to try to get in daily berries. Daily greens are now pretty much a habit for me! So this sounds really good.
I love a chocolate cherry smoothie — with or without the banana! I do tend to follow recipes. I don’t know why, but I just love to follow recipes!
