My Birthday
So, Sunday was my birthday. Since I got to pick our activities for the day, we went to visit my son, daughter-in-law, and, of course, Samuel! I can’t think of a better way to celebrate.
It was also exciting that they had just moved into their new house! They had it built in a new development (which is much closer to the desert, hurray!), and just got the keys last week and moved on Friday! So the house was still full of boxes, the walls are bare, but they are so happy to be into their first home.
Yes, that is my birthday wine in the foreground.
So we got to play with Samuel.
And with the granddogs (Chloe will also be celebrating her first birthday in a couple days. Can you tell which dog is the puppy?
They took us to lunch at the Earth Bistro, a cute place in Temecula that has vegan options for us and gluten free options for them. A win-win!
All in all, just about the best way I can think of to spend my birthday.
My Dad
My dad and I shared the same birthday, so I always like to take some time to think about him on “our” day. He would have been 88!
How was your weekend? Any fun events or family time? Want to come to La Quinta to run a 5k with me? Did you guess which dog was the puppy?
Oh, you’ll have so much fun!
Well, it’s not so much fun to put the race on because you’re stressing that everyone else will have a great time. It’s fun when it’s over, though ๐
Haha, yes…I see what you mean!
Great project Debbie and congrats for the move. Palm Springs sounds to be an ideal place to relocate to.
Hi Debbie, I was on the Turkey Trot website and saw that the $30 registration deadline was today, however when I went to Active.com to register it said that registraion was closed. I have a family of 5 and would really like to get them registered today. Can you help me? Point me in the right direction?
You can go to Running Wild, 611 S. Palm Canyon, between 11 & 3 today to register.
What an awesome restaurant! I love restaurants that cater to vegans and ensure that cross-contamination does not occur. Happy Birthday!!
So glad your birthday was filled with love, family, pups, and joy.
Thank you. It was the best!
Happy Birthday weekend to both you & your Father! I think it’s wonderful you two share the same birthday. My heart breaks that he’s no longer here, but never forget he’s watching down and guiding you in all the right directions of life. Which sounds like he’s doing a great job!
I think it’s very cool that you & your husband host the 5k Turkey Trot race in your town. Wishing you another successful year!
Thank you! It’s fun that the race is in La Quinta this year. It was a lot tougher to put on a race in Palm Springs, which is an hour drive.
happy birthday!
Thank you!
You, my friend, are so deserving of the best birthday ever.
Im glad it was great.
xoxo
๐ Thank you
Happy Birthday! Hope your day was special and your entire year is blessed!
Thank you so much!
HUGE HUGS on your Dad!!!!!
What a wonderful bday Debbie – perfect to spend with family & cute doggies!!!!!
Thanks Jody!
Happy belated birthday!! If I was nearby, I’d absolutely do that Turkey Trot!
Thank you! ๐
What a wonderful birthday! ๐ I know that on my birthday, I love to just spend time with my closest family and/or friends – I don’t need a party or gifts or anything! Just love from those who love me!
And lets just say the only “trotting” I will be doing on Thanksgiving = trotting on over to the turkey! LOL!
Haha! At my house I’ll be trotting over to the Tofurky ๐
Hi Debbie! And happy belated birthday! I just found your blog as I was googling La Quinta Turkey Trot…. I will be in Palm Springs/Indio over Thanksgiving to work at the huge National Hockey Festival that is coming to town and wanted to see if I could get a little runski in while I am there (it helps make working over the holiday and away from my hubby and family a little more pleasant). I am even more excited to find your blog as I am progressing towards a vegan-ish diet. I will definitely be poking around a bit. Thanks! ๐
