I’m changing things up for Monday! Today, instead of my boring old running recap (which I can’t even prove since, you know, Garmin is down), I’m sharing my review of the new Theragun Mini Massage Gun.
I have been fortunate to own and try quite a few massage guns, including the granddaddy of them all, the Theragun Pro G3. Some are more powerful than others, some are louder than others, some are easier to use than others, but overall, I’ve been happy with all of the massage guns I’ve tried.
That being said, when I saw the advertisement for the new Theragun Mini Massage Gun I immediately knew that I needed it. The main reason for that is that I love the idea of a small and powerful self-care tool I can just toss in my bag and go.
I recently purchased the @therabody Theragun Mini and I couldn't wait to share my experience. Here's my review! #Theragun #selfcareClick To TweetSo, I bought it. Now, would the Theragun Mini live up to expectations?
Meet the New Theragun Mini Massage Gun
Theragun has made some changes to its products over the last few months. Officially now known as Therabody as the company strives to become fully dedicated to whole-body wellness, they have added a new generation of massage guns, vibrating rollers, and now, CBD products that are all designed to help your performance and recovery.
My Theragun Mini Review
The goal with the new Theragun Mini was to put all the power of Theragun into a small package and at a great price. They accomplished the latter for sure. The Theragun Mini is priced under $200. Let’s take a look to see if they accomplished the former.
The Noise
I love all of my massage guns but frankly, they’re pretty noisy. From what I’ve seen, every version of Theragun has gotten a little quieter and with the Theragun Mini they nailed it. It is almost silent, no louder than a fan. That’s a nice perk when you don’t want to hide away out of sight (and sound) when you use your massage gun!
The Power
This is what really sealed the deal for me. Could such a small massage gun actually do the job like the larger more expensive versions? The answer is yes! The Theragun Mini has three speeds that range from 1,750 to 2,400 PPM (percussions per minute). The new Theragun Pro has the exact same range (with a couple more in-between options)!
The Size
The size of the Mini was originally intrigued me. I love my Theragun Pro but it is large and requires its own case to carry around. The Theragun Mini is not quite pocket-sized but it does fit easily in my purse or gym bag. It also fits nicely in my hand. It has a non-slip surface and it’s ergonomically designed so it’s easy to hold and maneuver.
The Ease
At first, I thought that because of the small size of the Theragun Mini it would be difficult to reach certain spots. And that’s true, but it’s difficult to reach your mid-back even will a full-sized massage gun. As long as I can reach my shoulders and lats, I’m good! Anything else, well, that’s what my husband is for!
The battery life of the Mini is 150 minutes so it’s perfect for tossing in your bag, pulling it out when you need it, and not worrying about the battery dying. Right now, I’m keeping it by my desk, so I have it at hand when I’ve been sitting too long. Can you spell relief? When my fitness center re-opens it will be perfect to take to work, where I can use it on clients.
The Theragun Mini comes with the standard ball attachment but other attachments are available. I love that the attachments on all the Theragun models are interchangeable, so I can use any of the ones that came with my Pro model. It also comes with a power adapter and a small pouch so you really can just toss the Mini in your purse or bag.
Therabody also has an app that will help you create a wellness program for your own body. You simply create an account, add your Theragun model, and answer a few questions that will help you find a program that suits your needs. It’s really helpful when you’re just starting out with percussion therapy.
I think the only negative about the Theragun Mini is that it comes with just one attachment, but because of the great price point, it’s really not a negative thing. If you’d like more attachment options they are available for purchase.
This post is not sponsored and I purchased my own Theragun Mini, but I am an affiliate for Therabody. If you would like a 10% discount for your purchase of any Theragun or TheraOne CBD products simply let me know in the comments or email me at debbie@coachdebbieruns.com and I’ll hook you up.
Have you tried a massage gun yet?

I just got my first theragun and love it. I did not know about the mini version. Great for taking along to races and travel (whenever that happens again). Great review glad you like it
Debbie Woodruff
I love both my Theraguns but I have to admit the mini is so much quieter! I’m glad you love yours too!

I was wondering if massage gun will worth it, your post however put a stop to that doubt. Thanks Debbie for this.
