I love learning about a family owned business that has succeeded through hard work and honest values, don’t you? That’s why I’m happy to team up with GoMacro to let you know about their new Thrive Superfood Nut Bar, and to give you a chance to win a tray of 12 assorted Thrive bars!
The Story of GoMacro
It all started in 2003 when Amelia was diagnosed with breast cancer. After researching and soul searching, she chose, after a lumpectomy, to skip the years-long drug treatment and instead switched to a macrobiotic diet. Amelia eliminated dairy, eggs, refined flours and sugars, processed foods, artificial ingredients, additives, preservatives, and animal products from her diet.
All her food was freshly grown on the Wisconsin farm where she lived. As her health improved, she felt the need for something sweet, having eliminated all sugar from her diet. She began experimenting with natural sweeteners, along with the grains and fruits grown on the farm to create macrobiotic desserts. The GoMacro bar was born. There is much more to Amelia’s story that you can read about here.
I just love their core values statement: “The pursuit of health is a path of living in balance with ourselves and nature with products that have positive effects on the world.” And the GoMacro five principles: 1) Eat food, not too much, mostly plants. 2) A macrobiotic diet is the key to a long, healthy life. 3) If nature did not make it, we do not use it. 4) Pay it forward. Give back. Change the world. 5) Let us walk softly on the earth with all beings, big and small, remembering as we go that one God, kind and wise created all.
Both the GoMacro bar and the Thrive bar are certified USDA organic, vegan, non-GMO, and gluten-free. The only question, I guess, is “do they taste good?”
To put it simply, yes. Yes, they do. With a wide variety of flavors that will please anyone (I went straight for the chocolate peanut butter cup and the chocolate, nuts and sea salt, while Alan loves the caramel and coconut). Each bar has around 180-190 calories and contains only real food, no preservatives or artificial anything.
You can win a 12 pack tray of Assorted Thrive bars by using the Rafflecopter below! You can also save 30% on your purchase with the discount code Thrive30!
