I can get a little down during the summer. It’s so hot here (and it’s been a very hot summer) that sometimes it feels like we’ll never get to fall. I’m mostly laid off from work because my clients “get out of Dodge” until the weather cools down. So writing down my Friday Favorites is a great reminder that life is good, it’s almost August (yay), and very soon life will return to the status quo (and I’ll have a regular income again!).
Friday Favorites from the Week
Grandkids!
Perhaps the best part of my week was visiting my grandchildren. Time goes so fast and they grow up so quickly that, even though they live very close, I sometimes feel I’m missing out. Samuel will be four years old in November and Emma is 11 months!
Lucky Eats
I told you a couple months ago about Lucky Vitamin, but if you missed the Twitter chat last month you might not know about their own brand of quality products. Lucky Eats is a comprehensive line of quality, organic superfood, including the Pumpkin and Flax seeds that I used in the smoothie below. They are always priced better than you’ll find in most places, but now many of them are on sale!
Superfood Tropical Smoothie
- 2 bananas
- 8 ounces almond milk
- 1 serving vanilla protein powder
- 1/2 cup frozen mango
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
- 1 tablespoon Lucky Eats raw organic pumpkin seeds
- 1 tablespoon Lucky Eats raw organic flax seeds
Place all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth.
Legend Ambassador

Just Cookie Dough
I read about Hampton Creek Just Cookie Dough a few months ago. It is a dairy free, egg free cookie dough that they had just introduced to SuperTarget. Well, my local Target is not Super, so it wasn’t until I was heading home from Blogfest when I pulled over because I was getting sleepy, at what happened to be a SuperTarget. Of course, the first thing I thought about was this cookie dough.
To be honest, I haven’t baked the cookies yet. But I have definitely pulled it out to eat a couple teaspoons straight from the jar. It’s delicious. You’d never guess that it was vegan. I think I’ll go eat some right now!

I actually forgot about it for a few days! Which is the only reason why it’s not all gone.
I need that cookie dough! How do you like the Legend Compression Wear. I considered filling out the form, but I hate to commit before I’ve even tried them. I want to be sure I’d like the product and want to promote it.
I like them a lot. The quality is very good and the compress without being too tight. I hope they will grow and offer more designs, but I’m happy with being an ambassador and representing them.
