A Goody Bag from Kindrunner. And We’re Off to Big Bear!

On Wednesday I arrived home from work to find a package waiting for me.  I love getting packages, whether it’s something I bought or that I’m being sent to review. It’s kind of like a mini version of my birthday. This time it was completely unexpected and it turned out to be a goody bag from Kindrunner!

I am proud to be an ambassador for Kindrunner, which just celebrated its first birthday! Kindrunner is an online running store that manages to provide the personalized service and knowledge of a local shop. From video reviews, to their unique custom fit process, free three-way shipping, and 365 return policy, Kindrunner strives to be your one-stop running store.

To me, the most important aspect of Kindrunner is the Kindness Cash Rewards program. Every year, so many used running shoes are thrown away, while millions of people go shoeless. Now, when you purchase a new pair of running shoes you can return your old shoes and they will be repurposed to help people who really need them. In return, you receive Kindness Cash, which can be used on a future purchase.

My Kindrunner Goody Bag

It was pretty cool to receive this goody bag full of some fun running necessities, along with a nice little note from Joe and Kyle from Kindrunner. My package included:

Sneaker BallsSneaker Balls! These are activated and placed into your stinky running shoes to deodorize and leave a clean fresh scent.

Strobe3It’s hard to see how bright this StrobeLight is in a picture, but believe me, it will catch the attention of any driver coming up behind you. I lent gave it to Alan to use when he rides his bike.

balegaI love Balega socks, so I was really excited to see these in my goody bag. Especially because they’re pink. They have just enough cushioning to be comfortable without feeling too thick. The seamless toe is linked by hand to avoid friction, and the heel and toe are double reinforced to increase durability.

body glideBody Glide has become my close companion in recent times. This one is made especially for women. It’s perfect to prevent chafing, a problem I deal with on longer runs.

bottleI admit that I was more excited than the circumstances warranted about seeing this bottle in the goody bag. After all, we have about a million of them lying around the house. The thing is, with the exception of my running bottle, they are all Alan’s. I’m happy to have my own, that I can use for my own purposes, and keep it nice and shiny and clean.

This weekend, Alan and I are heading to the mountains! To Big Bear Lake to be exact, where he will be announcing the Big Bear Triathlon on Saturday morning. We decided to make a weekend of it, so we’re driving up early on Friday and staying two nights. The race will be putting us up on Friday night, then we’ll be visiting some friends on Saturday. We’re really looking forward to the break from the heat in the desert, though with a low of 45 and about 6,500 feet elevation, we’ll need to pack our warmest clothes. And gloves! Where did I put my gloves?

What are your weekend plans? Any travel or races on the agenda?
